redrocks After a pretty normal winter and a realllly wet May, Denver is definitely ready for summer. There are a lot of summer activities and finding them all is quite a task. I have picked some of the best links to find lists of your top items in various categories. Of course, I have added my own opinion with a few of my favorites.

Outdoor movies

Without a doubt, Film on the Rocks is one of the best things about a Denver summer. You get a classic movie and an opening band or two for a low cost. And it is at Red Rocks, so you can’t beat that. But there are many other free outdoor movies venues, each with their own appeal. Check out the Thrillist.com list for all the local outdoor movies listings for summer 2015:

Farmers markets

I love browsing farmers markets to find great local produce and hand made crafts. Here you can find a list of many of these markets, but I am sure there are even more little ones. Go check one out, load up on some fresh produce, then go home and grill!

Eating outdoors

After a busy day, I love grabbing a bite to eat and hanging out with friends on one of the many patios or rooftops around Denver. There are so many, you can find several lists of the top outdoor dining restaurants. A couple of my favorites include: the back patio at the Black Crown Lounge, the quiet garden at Domo, the patio of the Lowry Beer Garden, and World of Beer in Glendale where you have your choice of food delivery from the surrounding restaurants.

Music outdoors

You can’t talk about music outdoors in Denver without mentioning Red Rocks. This place is one of the premiere outdoor venues in the world and this year’s schedule is jam packed. If you haven’t seen a show a Red Rocks, this is the year to do it!
